If you work in this world, you might look at this and think you could do it better. Good. You probably can. This page is for you.
Here is the whole truth of how this was made, with nothing held back.
This was built using Claude, the AI chat assistant, in an ordinary conversation. It is hosted for free on Netlify. It was built almost entirely by talking, using voice dictation, with no coding and no technical skills.
That is not false modesty. There was no team, no developer, no budget. One individual, an idea, a few hours, and a conversation.
The actual method, blow by blow
- Start with a real problem. This began with a single Facebook post making a bad legal argument about parking enforcement. The idea was simple: build the honest, accurate version of what that individual was reaching for.
- Open Claude and just talk.Describe what you want in plain words. "I want a calm web page that tells someone their rights when a bailiff is at the door, for England, Scotland and Northern Ireland separately." That is exactly how it started.
- Make it check its facts.Ask it to search and verify the law as it stands, the notice periods, the fees, the differences between the nations, rather than trusting its memory. Then ask where it might be wrong.
- Argue with it.Push back. Ask "is any of this actually advice I'm not allowed to give?" Ask "how is this different from Citizens Advice?" Make it tell you the weaknesses. The honest answers shaped everything.
- Build in small pieces. One guide, then another. Then the calm app. Then the pages that tie it together. Each piece in plain conversation, refined by reacting to what came back.
- Keep it honest and free.No paywall, no funnel, no data leaving the user's phone. Decisions made out loud, on purpose, with the AI as a thinking partner that was willing to disagree.
- Host it for free.Export the files, drag them into Netlify, and it is live on the internet. No server, no cost.
That is the entire recipe. There is no secret step. The tools are available to anyone reading this, today, for little or no money.
What this is, and isn't
This does not claim to be the best thing ever made, or perfect, or the final word on anything. It is a calm, honest, free tool made quickly by one individual who wanted to help. The information already existed elsewhere. What this tries to add is steadiness in the moment someone is frightened.
If you can do it better, and you are of good will, and you want to add value to the world rather than confuse or frighten people, then please do. Take this method. Improve on it. Build the thing you think is missing.
The only thing asked in return is this: keep it accurate, keep it kind, and keep it for the people who need it rather than for yourself.
Go well, friend.
